Summer has finally arrived! And maybe you’ve just arrived too… Are you new in Spain? Have you just moved to another country? Maybe after a long trip you don’t feel like spending endless hours in planes again to visit other countries… And we have to tell you that it’s not necessary. In Spain we have incredible paradises, so you don’t need to go far to look for them. If you still don’t know where to go on holiday in Spain, stay reading this post because at People Global Relocation we bring you 5 dream destinations to visit in Spain.

We know we’re in the middle of summer and that the heat is really hot… That’s why our list of destinations is going to feature water, both fresh and salt water. Let’s get started!

These are our 5 dream destinations:

1. Lanzarote

Lanzarote is one of the islands that make up the archipelago of the Canary Islands. The Canary Islands are located 1700 kilometres from the Iberian Peninsula and therefore geographically much closer to Africa than to Europe. This is why in Lanzarote you will find a mixture of both charms.

On the one hand, the Spanish tradition, language, culture and way of being of its inhabitants is maintained. On the other hand, you will find incredible landscapes more typical of the African desert than of Spain.

In Lanzarote you can visit the Timanfaya National Park or the Cueva de los Verdes.

2. Covadonga Lakes, Asturias

Asturias is a region located in the north of Spain that stands out for its incredible gastronomy. In Asturias you can try cachopo and fabada and drink a good glass of well-poured cider. But as well as its food, Asturias also has many other things that will leave you in awe, including the Covadonga Lakes.

Although bathing is not allowed in these lakes, we assure you that this will not be a problem, as the views will be totally worth it.

3. Cíes Islands, Vigo

The Cíes Islands are located in Vigo, Galicia, and are made up of three different islands. To visit them, you’ll first have to ask for authorisation and buy your ticket, as they have a limited capacity to protect the natural paradise they form.

One of these paradisiacal islands is Rhodes Beach, which was awarded “World’s Best Beach” by The Guardian newspaper. You can reach them by ferry, departing from the Vigo estuary and the surrounding area.

4. Cabo de Gata, Almería

Cabo de Gata, located in Almería, southern Spain, has incredible beaches with turquoise waters and white houses. You can get there in your own car, and take the opportunity to visit all the typical Andalusian villages characterised by whitewashed houses.

Some of these villages, which we are sure will make you feel like you are in a fairy tale, are, from north to south: Mojácar, Carboneras, Agua Amarga, Las Negras, Níjar, Rodalquilar, la Isleta del Moro, El Pozo de los Frailes, San José and, finally, the village of Cabo de Gata. And all this without leaving Spain!

5. Formentera

Formentera is one of the islands that make up the Balearic Islands, located to the east of the Iberian Peninsula. It is one of the smallest islands in the archipelago and can be reached by ferry from Ibiza.

The island stands out for its incredible beaches with crystal clear waters and white sand. What’s more, not only can you spend all day enjoying the sun, but you can also visit the Barbaria lighthouse or the Ses Salines Nature Park, among other destinations.

As you will see, there is no need to look for paradises outside Spain, as there are many close to home. Come and visit some of the places we recommend this summer, and don’t hesitate to tell us about your experience on our social networks!
