What exactly is an entrepreneur visa?

The entrepreneur visa is a type of visa that allows you to reside in Spain for 2 years. To do so, you must meet the requirement of starting a business project in the country. Furthermore, this project must be in line with the interests of the Spanish economy.

What do we mean by the interests of the Spanish economy?

It is not enough to start any kind of project, but it must comply with the following rules:

  • The operational process of the company must include high technology.
  • You must create jobs in the country.
  • The business project must be able to create investment opportunities, both nationally and internationally.
  • In addition, if you have patents, clients and letters of recommendation, the chances of your project being accepted will increase.

Entrepreneurship Law in Spain

The entrepreneur visa is regulated under the Entrepreneurship Law 14/2013. Any visa under this law allows you to apply for it while you are already in Spain. In addition, another of the great advantages of the entrepreneur visa is the speed with which the resolution is obtained.

Requirements for a visa application to be accepted

  • Present your business plan, in which you must define what your business project consists of and demonstrate that it is in the interests of the Spanish economy.
  • The company must involve something innovative for the country, something that really creates value for the Spanish economy.

Documents to present in order to obtain the entrepreneur’s visa

  • Application form
  • Valid passport
  • Proof of payment of the corresponding fee
  • Business plan
  • Documentation proving that you meet the basic requirements: you must be over 18 years of age, not have a criminal record, have sufficient financial means, have health insurance, whether public or private, and so on.
